Architecture&Photography

Clara Judica was born in Sicliy in 1980, where she spent most of her young life before moving to Milan and gaining a degree in Architecture and Design from the Politecnico di Milano in 2006. Whilst at university, she begins photographing architecture. Upon graduation, this becomes her chosen profession, in particular, via her photography, she examines the aesthetic structure of both architectural objects and cities.

Clara's photography explores the relationship between architecture, the cities it envelopes and the role of contemporary architecture in the world.

Much of her photographic research relates to the contemplation of both industrial and abandoned disused sites as silent story tellers, through their apparent and natural decay. These disused sites are often in stark juxtaposition to the economic and urban growth of cities in continuous development. This complex relationship between historic and modern is reflected in her photographic projects.

Exhibitions of Clara's work have included the Biennale di Venezia, Triennale di Milano and private exhibitions in Milan and London. Her photographs have been published in a plethora of architectural journals, magazines and books.

She is currently working on a series of photographic and video collaborations with Milan based architects, designers and artists.
